Your Custom Ketubah

A Ketubah is a Jewish marriage document that outlines the commitments between a couple. Traditionally signed before the wedding and read during the ceremony, it is a crucial part of the Jewish wedding. A custom Ketubah is a meaningful way to commemorate the beginning of a marriage, while also creating something tangible that you can take home and cherish for years to come.

I create each Ketubah as an original, unique work of art, designed specifically for each couple. No two Ketubahs are ever the same. Working closely with each couple, I bring their vision to life, creating a beautiful watercolor Ketubah that feels personal to them and their home.

Getting Started

Each custom Ketubah starts with a conversation. We’ll discuss your story, your style, and the details that are meaningful to you so I can get a clear sense of your vision.

Once we’ve settled on the direction for your Ketubah, you’ll receive an agreement and submit a $250 deposit to reserve your spot.

Your rabbi or officiant will provide and approve the final text, including your names, wedding date, and location. Any language, religious tradition, or level of religious observance is welcome. I’m happy to provide text options if needed.

Once approved, I’ll typeset and format what's needed for your design.

The Text

The Design

We’ll gather inspiration and explore your ideas for artwork, flowers, colors, motifs, and fonts.

I’ll create a digital mockup for you to review and refine until you’re completely happy with the design. Once you approve the final mockup, changes can no longer be made.

The Painting

After the mockup and text are approved, I begin painting, which typically takes between 2–4 weeks.

Your Ketubah is completely hand-painted using watercolor, which allows for a beautifully soft and detailed finish. Gold leaf and other accents can also be incorporated.

Once the painting is complete, the remaining balance will be due.

Your Ketubah will then be carefully packaged and prepared for hand delivery or shipping.

Before your wedding day, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about your Ketubah and the signing.

Finishing Touches

On your wedding day, your Ketubah can be displayed unframed, like a scroll, or in a temporary frame that can be easily removed for signing.

After the wedding, your Ketubah should be professionally framed, ideally with UV-protective glass to help preserve the painting.

After Care

The Custom Ketubah Process

Pricing

Ketubahs start at $1,250. Final pricing depends on the design, level of customization, and size of the piece. Each Ketubah is hand-painted and takes 25+ hours to complete, making each piece a true work of art and labor of love.

Timing

I require a minimum of two months’ notice before your wedding date. The earlier you reach out, the better—so don’t hesitate to get in touch in advance! Rush orders may be accommodated depending on my schedule.
